Summerfair History

As the 2012 Carlisle Summerfair approaches, the board will be celebrating 35 years in the community. Started in 1978, Summerfair was the brain child of Wayne Powell, formerly of The Sentinel. With high gas prices, he wanted something for the familes in the area to do over the Fourth of July. As the years have gone by and events and board members have come and gone, one thing stays the same - the committment to the community to have family-friendly events at no cost to the public. We all thank the dedicated men and women that have made, and will continue to make Summerfair what it is today!  And, most of all, we want to thank those in the community that have supported Summerfair by sponsoring Summerfair's events so that we can put Summerfair on each year without cost to the attendees.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
